01 — Setup
Pair your bulb
First, add your Govee bulb to Wi-Fi in the Govee Home app —
this step lives in Govee's app, so we leave it in their hands.
- Open the Govee Home app and add your bulb.
- Confirm it's on Wi-Fi and you can control it there.
Govee bulbs join 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only — not 5 GHz. If
pairing won't complete, put your phone on your 2.4 GHz network first.
02 — Account
Create your account
We use your email to keep your rhythm and welcome you back.
03 — Access
Request your Govee key
In the Govee Home app:
- Tap Profile → Settings → Apply for API Key.
- Complete the short form; the key arrives by email.
One key per Govee account. Request a new one and the previous
key retires — simply paste the new one here.

Only tunable-white bulbs can shift colour temperature.
